Mixed Media
Upcoming Workshops:
Mixed Media Instructors:
Mixed media is a relatively new term that means combining different art mediums. Examples of mixed media include the following: mixing paint with photography, printmaking with written poems, using found objects in the art piece, etc. Our program uses this term as a bucket for any art that doesn’t fit into one of our other service lines. Examples of mixed media classes and workshops at FSA include basket weaving, book arts, collage, altered books, or book arts, botanical art workshops, and more.
Fun Facts About Mixed Media:
While mixed media art has been around since ancient times, it is reported that the first modern piece was created by Pablo Picasso in 1912 – Still Life with Chair Caning. There are many types of mixed media art some of which are as follows: Collage, Assemblage, Found Art, Book Alteration and Découpage.
