In this class we’ll be making a unique design that uses traditional metalsmithing techniques to create a one-of-a-kind ring. Adding a graceful 3-part ring shank makes this ring truly stand out. You’ll love the sleek look and feel of this ring!
Students will learn:- Silver soldering,- Picking cabochons,- How to make a bezel,- Bezel setting,- Forming a border,- Making a 3-strand ring shank- Finishing.- Most Students will complete the project in class.
Kit Contents:1” x 2” - 22 ga. sterling silver sheet (back plate)6” - Fine Silver bezel wire6” – 16 ga. sterling silver rd. wire (shank)3” – 8 ga. ½ rd. sterling silver wire (shank)6” – 11 ga. ½ rd. sterling silver wire (border)
Although instructor will provide tools for each student, bring any tools you have/want to use, basically everything you can carry!
Instructor will supply:- Ring mandrel (slotted)- Hammer- Liver of sulfur gel- Ring finger gauge (sizer)- Burnisher (bezel pusher)- Solder set-up- Finishing set-up- Tool kits for students
Student needs to bring:Cabochon – no larger than ⅜” x ¾” (Instructor will have some for sale at time of class)
