Join Instructor Dixon Fish for the next installment of his popular Art History Club series! Whether you’re new to art or a seasoned aficionado, make new friends in this welcoming environment and explore art history on a whole new level. Each week will cover a new discussion point relevant to the overall series theme - tell your friends and join the conversation!

June 5: Why Do You See What You See?

Discover why Vermeer used mirrors to create his paintings, and other optical tricks that were used by artists. You’ll see how the impressionists were ahead of their time in employing scientific discoveries. We’ll also uncover how you see with your brain and how that led to a new art style.

June 12: Is it Beautiful, or Ugly?

You’ll explore the definition of beauty from the Greeks to Picasso.  Is what was once considered beautiful still beautiful?  Discover how the cost of food affected what was considered beautiful in the 17th century.

June 19: Why Picasso is a GOAT

With a deep dive into the life and work of Pablo Picasso, Dixon will try to convince you why Picasso will be remembered as one of the Greatest artists Of All Time. You’ll leave with an understanding of his originality and how he revolutionized the way artists, museums and collectors look at art.
