Join us for a special holiday event at FSA with the rare opportunity to watch accomplished sculptor, Karen Williams Smith, as she works with ceramic clay to sculpt a face.  Sculpting the human form has long been regarded as the most challenging to master, and Karen makes it look effortless!

During the demonstration, Karen will share images of her work as well as some of her secrets to sculpting realistic features.  You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions about this challenging medium, and you’ll adore Karen’s  warm personality and infectious smile.  One of the hallmarks of Karen’s work is that her figures seem to think and move, and her art has been exhibited in gallery shows in San Diego, Long Beach, and San Francisco, California, as well as Santa Fe and Albuquerque, New Mexico, and New York, New York.  She’s also exhibited internationally in Tokyo, Japan, and Moscow, Russia!  Karen is an accomplished artist in a varied range of mediums.  Everyone is welcome, so bring your friends & family, enjoy yummy holiday refreshments and an evening of watching and learning from a master!
