Join us on Sunday afternoon in the Glass Studio to create a hot glass pumpkin or gourd! After a brief lesson on hot glass safety, Instructor Mariah Conner will show students how clear molten glass is “gathered” from a crucible kiln. Students will get to practice hands-on techniques for applying colors of their choice, reheating, and shaping their piece at the bench using traditional glassworking tools such as a wooden block and metal shears, tweezers, and jacks on the way to completing gorgeous autumn hot glass art.
This wonderful class is a great follow up for those with previous hot glass experience, but beginners are welcome too. Completed glass art will be annealed (cooled over many hours in a kiln to prevent it from cracking), and FSA will notify you when it’s ready for pick up. This class is limited to only 6 students, so hurry and secure your spot today!
Note: There is an additional $10 cash-only supply fee due at the workshop. No outside glass allowed.
Warning! This glass project requires working near extremely hot materials and equipment! Therefore, to ensure your safety, students must wear close-toed shoes, long pants and be able to wear protective gear (provided).
