Details
Join Instructor Susan Hirsch and learn how to design and create imagery with bits of glass. Frit is ground glass and comes in coarse, medium, fine and powder consistencies so details of your glass art can be realized. Susan will show you how to create a landscape or picture in two separate layers that become one after stacking and firing in the kiln. The top layer will consist of dimensional components like frit, vitrograph, cut glass, stringers, etc. The bottom layer is sifted powder using a silk screen. Combining these two techniques and layers adds depth and luminosity for spectacular results! All materials are included to create one glass art panel. For beginners and all skill levels. All registered students will receive one complimentary guest pass to 26th Annual Galaxy of Glass Exhibition: Capturing Light - Art & Nature at the Fallbrook Art Center.
Note: Your glass art will be kiln-fired after class and ready for pick up at FSA in approximately one week or contact our office for shipping options. No outside glass allowed. Close-toed shoes recommended in the Glass Studio.
