Join us for a deep-layered forest scene glass project that’s perfect for the season! Instructor Susan Hirsch will transport you into the woods as you learn to create detailed imagery by applying photo masks, sandblasting and then filling with fusible enamels. The first day (Saturday), you’ll design two double-sided layers using Rayzist photomasks and then sandblast them as your woodland scene begins to take shape. These layers will be fired overnight and ready for painting and powder sifting colorful background details on Sunday. This thick project will consist of four layers that will be fired a second time in a Patty Gray Mold with sides, so damming is not needed. All tools, equipment and materials are provided for one tile. Students must have previous glass experience.
Note: Sunday’s class hours are 10a to 2p. Your glass art will be fired a second time after class and ready for pick up at FSA in approximately one week or contact our office for shipping options. No outside glass allowed and close-toed shoes recommended in the Glass Studio.
