Believe it or not, these beautiful, realistic succulents are actually made from glass! Join Instructor Michelle Sherer in the Glass Studio for this special workshop and learn to create succulents using a freeze-and-fuse method that utilizes a glass powder mixture in a mold that freezes before going into a kiln to fuse. Have fun creating two small succulent arrangements from a variety of molds and “plant” them in small terra cotta pots. You decide how your succulents will look from a selection of organic-colored glass frit powders. And, while you’re waiting for your succulents to freeze, you’ll have the opportunity to create one or two glass tiles (approx. 3” x 3”) to go under your pots. This is a great opportunity to learn basic glass cutting techniques. Michelle will help you with design and shape ideas, too, if you’re new to fused glass art.
Please note there is an additional $10 (cash only) material fee due in class. Long pants and close-toed shoes are highly recommended. Beginners are welcome! You’ll take home your pots, sand and gravel and all glass art will be fired after class and ready for pickup at FSA in approximately one week to create your arrangements at home. If you prefer, contact our office for shipping options & fees. No outside glass allowed.
Supply Fee: $10 cash-only supply fee due to instructor at time of class.
