Gather your family and friends and light up your Christmas Spirit by making a festive, lighted glass Christmas tree! Join Instructor Michelle Sherer to learn how to design and create your own glass tree that will sparkle when illuminated with a small LED light (included). Michelle will show you techniques including glass nipping, layering cut glass as well as making your own multi-colored frit (ground glass) so your tree will be decorated in time for Santa! Michelle will also include an acrylic star, so your tree has a topper. Copper pipe “tree trunks” will be pinched and precut for each student and you’ll receive instructions on how to attach it to your tree. A pre-drilled wooden base is also included for your tree and bulb for display throughout the Christmas season. Tree stands approximately 8” tall and 11” including the base. Please note, you will be kneeling on the ground to make your own glass frit, so please wear long pants, closed-toe shoes and an N95 face mask as a precaution. Please note no outside glass is allowed at FSA.
All glass art will be kiln-fired after class and ready for pick up at FSA in approximately one week or contact our office for shipping options.
