The sea is calling! Answer it by creating a beautiful circular glass sculpture highlighting an ocean wave. Using a pre-cut rounded glass background, join Instructor Michelle Sherer for this Saturday + Sunday class, as she shows you how create a sparkling, circular wave. Choose your glass colors from a variety of ocean-inspired colored glass and cut them using “nippers” for this mosaic-inspired art piece. Make sure to wear long pants because you’ll be kneeling to make your own frit (ground glass). Michelle will demonstrate basic fused glass techniques to help you achieve fantastic results! Once you’ve created your wave, it goes into a kiln to fuse together. The next day you’ll add foamy details and your piece will go back into the kiln for a second firing. Your finished Sea of Waves glass art will be approximately 7.5” and ready for display. Sturdy custom stands are available for purchase in class at $35 each or use your own. Beginners are welcome! All glass art will be ready for pickup at FSA approximately one week after class. Or contact our office for shipping options and fees. Please note no outside glass is allowed at FSA.
Student Supply Fee: $10 cash-only supply fee due at the workshop. Optional $35 for custom stand.
Students to Bring: N95 mask, long pants & closed-toed shoes are required.
