NEW DATE! Family in town for the Thanksgiving holiday? Come and spend quality time together creating art! Join Instructor Suzanne Balestri and learn how to use an array of colored glass in organic shapes to create a stunning one-of-a-kind tray. Small, kaleidoscope-like clusters of colors in a mosaic pattern creates bold, whimsical designs in fused glass. And ensuring the texture and definition around each color creates a wow factor! You'll have access to a large selection of colored glass and embellishments to create one tray from a variety of shapes which is fired and then “slumped” (fired a second time) for a curved impression.
OR create something else! Suzanne is offering another project for those who would rather create holiday art instead of a Kaleidoscope Tray. So, bring your imagination and make holiday ornaments or décor! They make great handmade holiday gifts or keep for yourself… we won’t tell anyone. Beginners are welcome! Ages 13 and up.
Note: Trays need two firings in the kiln – one to fuse all glass layers into one solid piece and another to slump (shape) your fused art into a mold of your choosing, so there is a $10 (cash only) tray firing fee due at the workshop. There is no additional firing fee for creating ornaments only.
$105 includes all materials and pre-class video instructions. Additional $10 cash-only fee due at workshop for trays only. No outside glass is allowed at FSA.
Supplies Students Bring: Long pants and closed-toe shoes recommended.
