We invite high school students for this extended introduction to ceramics.  You’ll learn construction techniques of hand-building and throwing. During this 8-week class, demonstrations will be given weekly on the basics of ceramics including trimming, decoration, firing, kilns, and basic glazing techniques. Project goals include a set of mugs / tumblers, bowls, and salt & pepper shakers, and we encourage you to bring ideas for the workshop to explore. On the last class, students will participate in a Raku firing of one of their pieces... and yes, you’ll also learn what Raku means.

*Note: First bag of clay will be included in your course fee. Additional clay can be purchased at the school for $20 per bag. Clay can only be bought during class from the Instructor.  Grades 9-12.
