Come learn how to transform plants into beautiful works of art. Not only is basketry a calming and meditative artform, but it’s also a wonderful way to recycle from the environment. Students will start by coiling around a lovely polished stone, then weave so their stitchwork is identical on both sides of the basket. It's an easy way to start a basket and you'll find yourself looking for exciting things to use for centers such as brooches, pendants, etc. The coiling technique can later be used to weave many common plants. You will find yourself inspired by this instructor and tapping into new levels of creativity. Beginners are welcomed!Materials included per student: large spool of Irish waxed linen thread, handout, darning needle, mounted cabachon, and sorted/washed pine needles.
