Focus of the workshop is ‘Design’ in watercolor. Design is deliberate (analytical) and intuitive. It goes beyond just printing a pretty picture. My mission is to stimulate your creative mind through the ‘Thinking’ process. Generally demos and lectures will be in the morning. Each demo will emphasize and focus on specific elements of painting. I do not encourage ‘paint-along’. You can probably learn the craft by paint-along, but it will not help in learning and growing as an artist. Some homework will be needed and guidance and assignments will be given in advance. Specifically, I’ll address landscape painting – not portraits and figures, pets and animals, or mindless non-objective painting. These subjects are best practiced in the comfort of your studio.
A recommended supply list by Instructor Ratindra will be available upon registration. Bring whatever supplies you already have on hand on the first workshop meeting.
