Class/Workshop Details

Join us to throw some clay!  Um… throwing clay on a potter’s wheel that is.  Join Instructor Casey O’Connor each Saturday afternoon for 6 weeks as he teaches you several techniques in this fun, challenging and rewarding artform.  If you’ve always wanted to create a vessel, now’s your opportunity to learn from a master. Casey will teach several techniques including pulling, ribbing, centering, and joining or “stacking” sections of your art to achieve amazing results.  You’ll also learn basic glazing practices as well as some hand building techniques.  No experience necessary and all skill levels are welcome!

Each student is allowed to create 6 pieces to be bisque and glaze-fired per six-week session. Additional pieces may be subject to firing fees. Clay is not included and is available at $25 per 25lb bag (any variety).  No outside clay or glaze allowed.

Students to Bring: Apron, old towels and (optional) water bottle. Please wear close-toed shoes.

Optional Open Studio

When registering for any adult FSA Ceramics class, you have the opportunity to register for Open Studio too.  Six (6) Open Studio sessions are $75.  Each Open Studio session includes one, 3-hour day per week for 6 weeks (see below for schedule details). You will have full access to the FSA Ceramics Studio and an FSA Instructor will be present to answer questions and assist you, but no new lessons will be taught during this time so you can concentrate on your art.

NOTE:  Prorated days, substitutions, or make up sessions are not allowed.  Students who register for “Open Studio 1” for example, may not attend “Open Studio 1 and/or Open Studio 2” unless they have paid for that / those session(s) accordingly 

1. Open Studio 1 – Wednesdays ONLY- 5:30pm to 8:30pm  (June 22 – July 27, 2022) - $75  (Casey O'Connor)

2. Open Studio 2 – Thursdays ONLY-12:00pm to 3:00pm (June 23 – July 28, 2022) - $75  (Maggie Skidmore)

Rules:  FSA’s Open Studio sessions are only available to registered FSA students of adult Ceramics classes.  Students may register for multiple Open Studio sessions.  

Fallbrook Arts, Inc. Covid Policy Update 4/6/2022:  For adult classes at FSA – Masks are required for unvaccinated individuals. Fully vaccinated individuals are recommended to continue indoor masking when the risk may be high. For all K – 12 school aged students, masks are strongly recommended.
